57,600 babies were born last year: PACI
33,200 Kuwaitis and 24,400 non-Kuwaitis KU’s construction program launches training
KUWAIT CITY, June 9: The latest statistics released by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) showed that 57,600 babies were born in 2017 – 33,200 Kuwaitis and 24,400 non-Kuwaitis, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The statistics also revealed that 2,600 twins were born last year and 1,600 of them are Kuwaitis.
Around 4,000 of those born in 2017 have Kuwaiti fathers and Arab mothers while 28,850 have Kuwaiti parents, 49 have Kuwaiti fathers and North American mothers, 13 have Kuwaiti fathers and South American mothers, six have Kuwaiti fathers and Australian mothers, 1,512 have Kuwaiti mothers and Arab fathers, 60 have Kuwaiti mothers and Asian fathers, eight have Kuwaiti mothers and European fathers, and one has Kuwaiti mother and African father.
Photo from a construction site Kuwait University’s Construction Program has launched a training program to host newly graduated Kuwaiti engineers, who are not affiliated with any public or private institutions, for field training in the Sabah Al-Salem University City Project.
The training program aims at contributing to the development and investment of national manpower competencies as well as increasing their efficiency and professional capabilities.
In this regard, Director of Construction Program Dr Qutaiba Abdulrazzaq Razzouqi said, “In light of the importance of major strategic projects in the development of skills of national cadres, KU’s Construction Program is seeking to pave way for these graduates to take advantage of field training opportunities at Sabah Al-Salem University City Project to develop their practical skills and gain experience”.
Razzouqi affirmed that the project presents a fertile training environment that must be invested in developing the capabilities of national youth through investment in various engineering projects.
