Sci­en­tific Cen­ter in­au­gu­rates sum­mer camp pro­gram

The Sci­en­tific Cen­ter af­fil­i­ated to Kuwait Foun­da­tion for the Ad­vance­ment of Sci­ence (KFAS) in­au­gu­rated the all-new sum­mer camp pro­gram, which will be­gin on Sun­day June 24, 2018.

In a state­ment, the cen­ter’s Mar­ket­ing and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion man­ager Khaled Al-Ramli stated the sum­mer camp will con­tinue for eight weeks all the way through Sun­day to Thurs­day ev­ery week and the pro­grams are sched­uled from 9:30am un­til 2:30pm, not­ing the par­tic­i­pants will have am­ple time to ex­pe­ri­ence a wide range of sci­en­tific ac­tiv­i­ties and en­ter­tain­ment.

He re­it­er­ated that par­ents can reg­is­ter their chil­dren on a weekly ba­sis to par­tic­i­pate in sci­ence mod­ules spread over a 3-week pro­gram, with each week in­de­pen­dent of oth­ers— although they work together to cover a full topic.

kids can ex­pe­ri­ence up-front, hands-on learn­ing in themes such as earth sciences, plant and an­i­mal bi­ol­ogy, weather and cli­mate, an­i­mal habi­tats and ecosys­tems (a spe­cialty of the Sci­en­tific Cen­ter) and even field trips to arche­o­log­i­cal dig-site, depend­ing on the camp (based on age) and the week in which chil­dren par­tic­i­pate in the sum­mer camp.

The pro­gram, which has been de­vel­oped in part­ner­ship with sea­soned ed­u­ca­tors, will help chil­dren learn about teamwork, ver­bal and writ­ten com­mu­ni­ca­tion, cre­ativ­ity, STEAM-Based ap­proaches to problem-solv­ing and an­a­lyt­i­cal think­ing.
