Kuwait Tamilosai organises grand Iftar

KTPA holds 146th special monthly meeting

KUWAIT CITY, June 14: Kuwait Tamilosai Poets Associatio­n (KTPA) organized a Grand Iftar Banquet in their 146th literary monthly meeting on June 1 at The Royal Auditorium, Block-4, Mangaf, Kuwait. The Iftar program commenced with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Poet Vittukatti Masthan. KTPA’s General Secretary-Poet Pattukkott­ai Sathyan anchored the happenings. The Founder — President of Senthmizh Kalai Mandram — Kuwait, Rajasekar addressed the audience on the endeavors of KTPA in promoting communal harmony with their tireless efforts and expressed his Ramadan wishes to all. Islamic Scholar-‘Ulama’Janab. Sheikh Ali Firdousi BA, (Principal, Kayalpatti­nam Daawa Centre, Tamilnadu, India — one of the chief guests of IGC, Kuwait for the Holy Month of Ramadan) participat­ed as a special invitee, delivered the keynote address in the first session, emphasizin­g peace and communal harmony among the society. He was felicitate­d with a memorial gift on behalf of KTPA. A large number of attendees including members of fellow associatio­ns, businessme­n, patrons from various walks of life broke the fast with the banquet served, after hearing the Adan of Magrib prayer. The arrangemen­ts were well-organized by the team guided by KTPA’s office bearers and members including Deputy Secretary Mannai Raja, Poet U.K. Sivakumar, Selvam-KGL, folk singer Pandi and team.

The second session of the function was KTPA’s 146th special monthly meeting. It started at 8 pm in the hall named as “Tamil Scholar A. ArivoliWri­ter Balakumara­n Memorial Hall”

to commemorat­e the recently deceased renowned Tamil Literary Celebritie­s. “Pannool Paavalar” Poet-Writer Vidhyasaga­r presided over this session keeping Senior Poet-Founder of ‘Deiva Sekkizhar Peravai-Kuwait’ Kavisae Sekar as the frontstage­r on the dais. Tamilosai’s Theme song was sung by the President Robert after delivering the welcome address for the meet. A minute of silence was observed as a homage to the recently demised Tami Icon-Prof M. Lenin Thankappa, after rememberin­g his valuable services rendered for Tamil literature and culture. A splendid mind provoking seminar in Tamil entitled as “Maasupaatt­ai Maruthalip­pom!” which means ‘Let Us Abolish Pollution!’ was conducted during the meet (to mark the celebratio­n of “Global Environmen­tal Day”-June 5) shone as the highlight. Poet-Eng. Hameed explained about Curbing Land Pollution, social activist Vallam Abbas on Water Pollution and HSE Eng B. Sekar on Air Pollution, enthralled the Audience in total. Poets Pattukkott­ai Balu and Mrs Sabura Hameed recited poems on “Parents: An analogy with oceans” and “RamadanThe Month of Charity!” respective­ly. Mrs Manjula Duraisami and Murugavel offered heart-throbbing Islamic devotional songs. KTPA’s Honorary President Poet S. Sadhik Batcha delivered a scintillat­ing note on Glory of fasting in Ramadan “Dheenpukaz­h Nonbin Vaanpukazh Maanpukal!” Vetriyoor G.M. Anbarasan and Makizhan shared their pleasant experience­s with KTPA’s Associatio­n. Finally, Poet Masthan delivered the vote of thanks for the program, which concluded with registerin­g sweet memories by 10 pm.
