Kuwait urges media role to liberate Hodeidah City

-

JEDDAH, June 23, (KUNA): There needs to be a proper media strategy in place to explain the various dimensions of the operation to liberate Yemen’s main port city of Hodeidah, Kuwait’s information minister said on Saturday.

Liberating Hodeidah would be a turning point in the war in Yemen, Mohammad Al-Jabri, who also serves as Kuwait’s minister of state for youth affairs, told a meeting of information ministers representing nations in the Arab Coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen.

He went on to underline how a well thought-out media plan would be instrumental in exposing how much effort has been made to restore stability to a nation torn apart by war.

“We need to lay out a clear and concrete plan on the media front that supports the Arab Coalition’s comprehensive operations in Yemen,” the Kuwaiti minister, who is leading his country’s delegation to the talks, emphasized.

Al-Jabri spoke of the immense scope of humanitarian aid that Yemen needs, pointing out that the aforementioned operation is merely the periphery of the daunting task to bring stability and peace back to the war-ravaged nation.

The Kuwaiti information minister also deplored a spate of recent missile attacks launched by Houthi militias against Saudi Arabia, assuring the Kingdom of Kuwait’s unbridled support of all measures it takes to keep its security intact.

Kuwait’s Health Office in London needs KD 35 million to settle outstanding bills in hospitals, while its counterpart

in Frankfurt, Germany needs KD 15 million for last year’s financial calls, reports Annahar daily quoting sources from the health sector.

Sources said the Financial Affairs Department in the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Overseas Treatment Department and health offices abroad, conducted a study on the allocation of KD188 million to cover the expenses of patients eligible for overseas treatment.

Sources added the study revealed that the ministry is working towards reducing the number of patients sent to other countries for treatment, in collaboration with the assistant undersecretaries and specialized medical committees.
