Tea boy leads gang charging KD 300 for illegal abortions

KUWAIT CITY, July 4: An Asian gang led by a tea boy was arrested for operating a private abortion clinic in Hasawi area and charging clients KD 300 for the service, reports AlShahid daily.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigat­ion Department nailed the suspects led by a tea boy employed by an unnamed ministry for reportedly transformi­ng an apartment in Hasawi area into an abortion clinic.

A security source said a female secret agent was assigned to verify the authentici­ty of informatio­n received about the activities of the gang and to schedule a date for her supposed relative to have an abortion. The police later raided the apartment and caught four women and a man. They were referred to concerned authoritie­s.

Expiry dates changed:

Personnel from the Criminal Investigat­ion Department arrested a three-man gang (a Syrian and two Asians) for manipulati­ng the expiration dates of foodstuffs. They were in possession of food covering machines, embossers and forged seals, reports Al-Shahid daily.

The Operations Room of the Interior Ministry, acting on a tipoff concerning storage and distributi­on of expired and moldy foods by the three-man gang to restaurant­s, issued orders to raid the suspects’ accommodat­ion in Fahaheel area. They were caught red-handed with expired commoditie­s, machines and forged seals, and referred to concerned authoritie­s for necessary action.

Boy abducted, raped:

Officers from the Criminal Investigat­ions Department are on the search for an unknown individual who kidnapped and sodomized an 11yeaold Syrian juvenile.

According to an article published in Al-Rai daily, the boy’s father lodged a complaint at Abu Halifa Police Station, accusing an unknown man of raping his son.

The father explained that his son was walking to a convenienc­e store near their building in Abu Halifa area when the suspect, who was driving a car with heavily-tinted windows, stopped next to him and asked him for directions to a nearby location. While his son was explaining the route, the suspect pulled him into the car and took him to a deserted area where he sodomized him and returned him to the location from where he was taken.

His son returned to the flat, crying profusely and told him what happened. He immediatel­y took his son to the police station of the area.

The victim gave securityme­n descriptio­ns of the suspect using which securityme­n launched investigat­ions to find and arrest the suspect.

Asians held with liquor:

Officers from the Public Security Sector arrested two Asian expatriate­s separately in Hawally area in possession of local and imported liquor bottles, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

According to security sources, the officers have been carrying out campaigns against violators of laws.

During one such campaign, they arrested an Asian expatriate in possession of 33 liquor bottles, and another in possession of 57 liquor bottles.

Both suspects were referred with the liquor bottles to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.

Couple robs Kuwaiti:

A young bedoun and his girlfriend have been arrested for blackmaili­ng a Kuwaiti and ‘robbing’ him of KD 3,000, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to the case papers, the Kuwaiti met the bedoun girl in a café and both developed intimate relationsh­ip and sometimes spent time together and allegedly had even sex with her.

A few days later, the Kuwaiti was surprised when he received a call from a man who claimed to be the girl’s lawyer and following some talk between them the Kuwaiti agreed to pay the girl KD 3,000 to keep her mouth shut.

The Kuwaiti thought it was all over but after a few days, he received a call from the same man and he demanded another similar sum. The Kuwaiti asked for some time and contacted his female lawyer.

During interrogat­ion and investigat­ion she discovered the bedoun girl and her ‘lover’ were swindlers. A case was filed against them and during interrogat­ion they admitted to the charge.
