Jurists transferred to Appeals Court
Former NCCAL head fined
KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Head of the First Instance Court Judge Adel Boursely has approved the transfer of 15 jurists to the Appeals Court starting from October and after the promotion of some judges, reports Al-Jaridah daily.
The decision covers judges Hamed Al-Ammar, Nasser AlAthari, Waleed Al-Kandari, Ali Al-Matouq, Mohammad Jaafar, Ahmad Al-Dowaikh, Saoud Al-Sane’a, Mohammad Rashid Al-Mutairi, Dr Mohammad Al-Tamimi, Talal Al-Majal, Ahmad Al-Dabaie’a, Tariq AlNisf and Obaid Al-Asaimi.
Legal sources confirmed that the Judicial Council has approved the appointment of 24 Kuwaiti prosecutors as jurists in the First Instance Court. Sources said Bouresly decided not to hire expatriate jurists this year, adding that the Public Prosecution will transfer 60 prosecutors within two years.
Decision upheld:
The Misdemeanors Section in the Cassation Court has rejected the appeal submitted by former Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) and upheld the decision of a lower court to fine him KD 3,000 for offending Sheikh Mazen AlJarrah on Facebook, reports Al-Rai daily.
It is worth mentioning that Attorney Hussein Al-Asfour filed the lawsuit.
