KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Ministry of Education employees are all set to move to the new headquarters in South Surra after a long dream wait- as revealed by several employees in various sectors of the ministry, reports Al-Rai daily.

In this context, acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Facilities and Planning Yousef Al-Najar disclosed that gradual movement to the new location will begin in September with the Financial and Administrative Sector. He didn’t specify the final date of moving, because some sectors may delay but it’s certain that all sectors will move there eventually.

He said nobody will be left at the Shuwaikh office since the new headquarters can accommodate 3400 employees with entire staff strength of 3900. Therefore, accommodating the extra 500 won’t be a problem. He made a brief comment about the distribution of offices in the new headquarters, saying the eleventh floor, which is the uppermost, is for the Minister of Education and Higher Education.

The undersecretary’s office will be located on the tenth floor, while the ground floor is meant for completing transactions of the Financial and Administrative Sector, while easing transactions for visitors without them necessarily going to the upper floors.

Talking about the negative aspect of the new location, Al-Najar declared the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azmi has yet to endorse some plans and recommendations approved by the Higher Committee for Movement, citing the plan for car parks. He noted the currently available space is not enough to contain the cars of employees. “However, we thank Allah the problem is not difficult to manage and everything will be fine at the end of the day”, he reiterated.
