Cabinet adopts SAB report with suggestions on floating tenders
‘Decision reflects interaction’
KUWAIT CITY, July 30: State Audit Bureau disclosed that the Cabinet has adopted the bureau’s report with recommendations for floating tenders of construction projects in government agencies and forming a committee to study it as well as the included recommendations and proposals, reports Aljarida daily.
Assistant Undersecretary for Supervision of Ministries and Government Departments in the bureau Sulaiman Al-Busairi said the Cabinet’s decision to adopt the bureau’s report reflects the interaction between the two sides.
He affirmed that the contents of the reports of SAB and the preliminary statements issued by its supervision and monitoring board prior to forming an opinion is a motive for the developmental process.
Al-Busairi explained that the decision of the Cabinet is in tandem with the report issued by the bureau on “highrisk matters” in view of the connection between floating construction projects in government agencies with the 2035 developmental plan. This affirms the importance of the estimated costs of these projects and the scheduled period of completion in a way that does not adversely affect utilization and optimization of projects.
He said the Cabinet issued decision No. 1043 during its meeting No. 28/2018 held on July 16, which included the formation of a committee headed by the Secretary-General of the Central Agency for General Tenders and with representatives of the relevant parties in government agencies as members.
