FM takes part in consultative meeting of Arab League in UN
Kuwaiti, Albanian FMs discuss bilateral ties in New York
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25, (KUNA): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Monday attended a ministerial consultative meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States, which was presided over by Sudan’s Foreign Minister, which was held on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed on the League’s agenda and the current session of the UN General Assembly, especially the Palestinian issue, the Middle East peace process and developments in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya.
The meeting also discussed means of joint coordination to meet the challenges in the region as well as discussing the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah discussed Monday with Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati in New York ways of boosting bilateral ties.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s 73rd session.
The two sides also discussed issues of mutual concern and boosting cooperation in all fields. Attended Assistant Foreign Minister for the first deputy premier and Foreign Minister’s office Ambassador Dr Sheikh Ahmad Nasser AlMohammad Al-Sabah attended the meeting.
In the meantime, Sheikh Sabah Khaled met Monday Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s 73rd session in New York.
Abbas expressed his thanks for Kuwait’s support to Palestine in all fields regionally and internationally.
He also praised efforts of Kuwait within the framework of the United Nations Security Council and its support of Palestinians around the world.
The meeting was attended by Senior officials of Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry.
Sheikh Sabah Khaled also discussed on Monday with Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi in New York bilateral relations between both counties.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s 37rd session.
Both men also discussed issues of common concern as well as the regional and international developments.

Sheikh Sabah Khaled meanwhile met on Monday with Mauritania’s Foreign Minister, Ismail
Ould Cheikh Ahmed in New York to discuss bilateral relations between both counties.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s 73rd session.
Both sides also discussed issues of reciprocal interest and the latest regional and international developments.
The meeting was attended by senior Foreign Ministry officials.
