CAN kicks off breast cancer awareness campaign: Hessa

‘You deserve our attention’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1, (KUNA): A breast cancer awareness campaign, under the slogan, “You deserve our attention,” kicked off on Sunday in partnership with Kuwait Women Volunteer Society, Board of Directors member of Cancer Awareness National (CAN), Hessa Al-Shaheen said Sunday.

Al-Shaheen said in a speech marking the occasion that the campaign will continue throughout the month of October, and will include a range of events and activities spread in all six governances.

Al-Shaheen also praised Sheikha Fadia Al-Sabah’s efforts and her keenness to ensure success of the campaign this year, pointing out that although this is the first time that such cooperation between CAN and Kuwaiti Women’s Voluntary Society occur, but the two are keen not to make it the last, stressing on the need to have extended new activities and campaigns during the coming period.

Al-Shaheen added that CAN as an annual event was keen to expand its activities and events this year, namely a variety of large hosted events and many surprises which will be announced continuously throughout the month.

Al-Shaheen noted that last year breast cancer campaign was a great success and included many awareness activities in cooperation with a number of public and private institutions.

In 2006, CAN was launched under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
