Speaker delivers HH the Amir’s message to Turkey’s president

ISTANBUL, Oct 11, (KUNA): Speaker of Kuwait’s National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim said on Wednesday that he handed a message from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the importance of collective action.
Al-Ghanim said that it was an honor for him and the parliamentary delegation to meet with the Turkish President and present to him a message from His Highness the Amir on setting aside political differences in the region.
The letter of His Highness the Amir also focused on promoting peace and stability in the region, he added in a press statement after the meeting with Erdogan.
Al-Ghanim noted that he conveyed greetings and appreciation of His Highness the Amir to President Erdogan.
He said the meeting discussed the most pressing dossiers and their developments in the region, describing it as “useful and positive”.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti delegation stressed Kuwait’s view on the necessity of unifying ranks and bringing views closer together as well as working on setting aside differences amongst Arab and Muslim countries in order to help overcome challenges facing the region, the Speaker pointed out.

Meanwhile, he thanked members of the Kuwaiti delegation for taking part in the third meeting of Eurasian parliaments’ Speakers concluded on Tuesday in Turkey.
He noted that the delegation reiterated Kuwait’s parliamentary vision towards the region’s issues.
The Speaker said the parliamentary diplomacy inspired its vision regarding foreign policy from guidelines set by His Highness the Amir.
He thanked Kuwait’s Ambassador to Turkey Ghassan AlZawawi, Consul General Mohammad Al-Mohammad and all embassy and consulate’s staff for their efforts, for their efforts to facilitate the work of the delegation and prove their visit successful.
The delegation included deputy head of the parliamentary caucus MP Rakan Al-Nisf, and MPs Safaa Al-Hashim, Mohammad Al-Dallal, Thamer Al-Suwait and Dr Humoud AlKhodair.
Furthermore Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim and his party returned from Turkey on Wednesday evening after participating in the Third Eurasian Parliament Speakers Meeting in Antalya.
They took part in the event under an invitation from Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Binali Yildirim.
They were received at Kuwait Airport by secretary-general and secretary of the National Assembly Allam Al-Kandari and Dr Awdeh Al-Ruwai’e, respectively, and Turkey’s Ambassadress to Kuwait Ayse Hilal Sayan Koytak, according to AlDustour news network.
The gathering of 39 parliament speakers, representing some 3 billion of the world’s population, explored ways to enhance the economic and environment cooperation among the Asian and European countries.
