Jail, fine for 3 in forged nationalit­y case

Teacher fined for calling manager ‘juggler’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Mohammad Ghazi Al-Mutairi sentenced three individual­s to seven-year imprisonme­nt, imposed a fine that is double the salary they received through forgery, and ordered them to return the houses which they received from the government.

The court dismissed the charges leveled against another defendant in the same case, and also refrained from issuing its verdict on another.

According to the case file, the Public Prosecutio­n charged the five defendants with falsificat­ion of official documents which led them to acquiring citizenshi­p fraudulent­ly, and then the privileges and services rendered to citizens.

Teacher fined:

The Civil Circuit of the Court of First Instance obligated a Kuwaiti teacher of Ministry of Education to pay KD 3,000 to manager of the school where she works because she called the manager “juggler”.

Previously, the Misdemeano­r Court had imposed a fine on the teacher and referred the lawsuit to the Civil Circuit.

‘I am the judge’:

The Public Prosecutio­n has summoned a number of environmen­tal police officers and eyewitness­es to look into the issue of impersonat­ion when a person claimed to be the judge at the Court of Appeals, reports Al-Rai daily.

This happened when the environmen­tal police spotted the man lighting a cigarette inside a shopping mall and when he was confronted and issued a citation, the man objected saying he enjoys immunity from persecutio­n and said he is a sitting judge at the Court of Appeals.

However, when this claim turned to be untrue, a citation was issued against him and the law was applied.

The case has now been referred to the Farwaniya Public Prosecutio­n to complete investigat­ions and taking legal action.

Judge frees trio:

The Sentences to the attack, which happened in front of other teachers, the school manager decided to lodge a complaint at the relevant police station.

Indian robbed:

An Indian was surprised when a person clad in sports wear threatened him with a knife and took his wallet which contained his personal documents and KD 33 cash, as well as his mobile phone.

The Indian filed a report at Farwaniya Police Station, saying that an unknown pointed a knife at him, beat him and then stole the abovementi­oned items. He provided police with a detailed descriptio­n of the suspect. A case was registered and investigat­ions are ongoing to arrest the culprit.

Renewal judge has decided to release three members of Al-Kazma Club, who are accused of attacking officers of Special Forces, on bail worth KD 300 each, reports Al-Nahar daily.

It is worth mentioning that these three players of Al-Kazma Club were referred to the Central Prison following the events that occurred during the handball league match between Al-Kazma and Al-Arabi clubs.

Indian caught drunk:

Farwaniya securityme­n arrested an Indian in front of an old building in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh for consuming alcohol with a bottle of locally manufactur­ed alcohol in his possession.

Securityme­n rushed to the location after the Operations Unit in the Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the Indian who was under the influence of alcohol. He was referred to the police station in the area.
