Plan to increase police in Khairan to boost security

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: Undersecre­tary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham has asked Director General of Kuwait Municipali­ty to issue licenses for new security points in Lulua Al-Khai-ran area, reports Al-Shahed daily.

In the letter he sent Kuwait Municipali­ty, Lieutenant Al-Naham revealed about the recent observatio­n of the increase in the phenomenon of reckless driving in Lulua Al-Khairan area, adding that several complaints have been received concerning immoral activities and public brawls, especially in high-density locations within the area.

He stressed the need for fixed security points in many locations with the deployment of patrol teams to work there round the clock.

Lieutenant General Al-Naham requested for the approval to issue licenses for temporary security points until permanent security points are completed.

Under the supervisio­n of team leader and inspector of Farwaniya Distributi­on Networks Eng Emad Al-Jataily, a team of judicial police launched an extensive campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh to look for irregulari­ties and find the reason behind the burning of electricit­y lines due to power overload without the knowledge of the ministry, reports Al-Wasat daily.

During the campaign, the team discovered tens of irregulari­ties related to direct electricit­y connection­s without the use of meters and violating extensions that threaten the safety of citizens and residents.

Head of the judicial police warned against misuse of services offered by Ministry of Electricit­y and Water which cause disruption­s in the services.

Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Cairo recently announced that deadline for receiving the files of Kuwaiti students is Oct 31, reports Al-Rai daily.

The office in a statement affirmed that any student facing difficulty in that concern should visit the office in person to resolve the issue, indicating keenness of the authoritie­s to serve the interests of Kuwaiti students studying in Egyptian universiti­es.
