PART hosting team of experts for GCC railway project

Meet to commence from today

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: State of Kuwait, represented by the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART), is hosting a team of experts for the GCC railway project.

The team is preparing for the meeting of the committee of ministers of transportation and communication, which is due to take place on Oct 22-23, reports Aljarida daily.

According to sources from PART, preparations are underway for the meeting, and relevant local bodies concerned with the GCC railway project have been addressed to nominate not less than three members to represent them in the meeting.

These bodies are Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait Municipality, the Supreme Planning Council, State Ministry for Services Affairs, and Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP).

They explained that PART is currently preparing to hold the meeting by forming committees that will be in charge of organizing it and setting up its agendas.

These agendas will be discussed by the members in order to achieve the desired objectives. Discussion will also be held on various topics of importance, and it will be concluded with suitable recommendations which will be implemented on the ground.

The sources said, “This meeting is aimed to start the execution of this project, which is an important and vital in both local and regional levels for the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.

This will contribute in enhancing development and economic cooperation between the member states”.
