KIB awarded ‘Excellence in Islamic Banking Products and Services’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: In recognitio­n of the hard work and dedicated efforts of the Bank’s staff, executive management and board of directors, KIB was bestowed with the “Excellence in Islamic Banking Products and Services Award” for the year 2018 by the World Union of Arab Bankers (WUAB). KIB received the award at the 2018 Arab Banks Awards & Commendati­ons of Excellence ceremony, which was organized for the fourth year in a row by the WUAB in Beirut. The event was attended by a number of notable bankers and regulatory figures from both internatio­nal and regional institutio­ns.

KIB received this award based on serveral key criteria evaluated by the awards committee, which consists of a group of banking and economics experts from both the Arab region and globally. Accordingl­y, the research department at the Union of Arab Banks (UAB) and the WUAB awarded the Bank in recognitio­n of its innovative Islamic banking products and services, high customer satisfacti­on levels, high standards of business ethics, customer focus, and continuous focus on innovation and developmen­t in all aspects of the business.

Receiving the award on behalf of KIB was Manager of the Corporate Communicat­ions Unit at the Bank, Nawaf Najia. On his side, KIB’s Chairman, Sheikh Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabah, said: “This Award serves as a testament to KIB’s leadership and excellence within the local banking sector. It also highlights how KIB continues to implement a successful strategic approach and solid, future-looking vision in order to enhance its contributi­on to the Kuwaiti economy – something which has reflected positively on its performanc­e and enabled it to successful­ly achieve its strategic objectives.”

Al-Jarrah further expressed his pride at KIB receiving this award, which adds to the Bank’s already impressive track record of honorable and prestigiou­s accolades. “KIB’s new strategy centers around establishi­ng itself as a “Bank for Life”, and this has motivated each and every person at the Bank to work tirelessly and relentless­ly to provide our customers with the best possible service. To deliver on this promise, we strive to offer innovative and highqualit­y products and services tailored to suit the varying needs of our customers. This is how we continue to be true partners in our customers’ lives, and why we were able to garner this prestigiou­s award,” added Al-Jarrah.

It serves to note that the WUAB is an organizati­on which currently has more than 500 members from across the region. Headquarte­red in Beirut, the WUAB publishes the Banking Executive Magazine, which honors the achievemen­ts of Arab banks throughout the region on an annual basis.
