‘NAZAHA refers some current, ex-officials of MoH to Public Prosecution’

Names of suspects to remain secret pending completion of probe: minister

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: Minister of Health Dr Bassel Al-Sabah affirmed that Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (NAZAHA) has referred some former and current officials of the ministry to the Public Prosecution on allegations of misappropriating public funds, adding the names of the suspects will remain secret pending the completion of investigation, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In response to an inquiry by MP Faisal Al-Kandari in that concern, Al-Sabah said a technical committee looked into the supply of stents to the Chest Hospital alongside the AntiCorruption Authority and referred the issue to the Public Prosecution. He made it clear that a former head of department is in the grip of the prosecution but no current leadership or employee in supervisory position is among the defendants.
