‘NAZAHA refers some cur­rent, ex-of­fi­cials of MoH to Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tion’

Names of sus­pects to re­main se­cret pend­ing com­ple­tion of probe: min­is­ter

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: Min­is­ter of Health Dr Bas­sel Al-Sabah af­firmed that Kuwait Anti-Cor­rup­tion Author­ity (NAZAHA) has re­ferred some for­mer and cur­rent of­fi­cials of the min­istry to the Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tion on al­le­ga­tions of mis­ap­pro­pri­at­ing pub­lic funds, adding the names of the sus­pects will re­main se­cret pend­ing the com­ple­tion of in­ves­ti­ga­tion, re­ports Al-Qabas daily.

In re­sponse to an in­quiry by MP Faisal Al-Kan­dari in that con­cern, Al-Sabah said a tech­ni­cal com­mit­tee looked into the sup­ply of stents to the Chest Hos­pi­tal along­side the An­ti­Cor­rup­tion Author­ity and re­ferred the is­sue to the Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tion. He made it clear that a for­mer head of de­part­ment is in the grip of the pros­e­cu­tion but no cur­rent lead­er­ship or em­ployee in su­per­vi­sory po­si­tion is among the de­fen­dants.
