KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: The Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) in association with the Central Blood Bank of Kuwait hosted a blood donation event.
Last year, ACK organized a similar event; however, due to the high amount of participation in the previous Blood Donation drive, the Central Blood Bank of Kuwait has agreed to extend this Blood Donation event for two days instead of one this time.
The objective of the event was to propagate the significance of blood donation in saving lives, and to generate awareness about receiving and donating blood from different blood types. In order to do so, the event was themed with “Every Drop Matters”. Donors were greeted properly and were given a quick quiz related to the types of blood highlighting eligibility of receiving and donating blood from each blood type.
The Central Blood Bank of Kuwait has collected a total of 300 blood bags from ACK Blood Donation Day; however, donors who were willing to donate before the screening were a total of 700 people. The Blood Bank also shared their appreciation toward ACK’s community for having one of the highest amounts of blood donation contribution from educational institutions in Kuwait and proposed that for the future drives, ACK can host the event for a whole week.
ACK would like to thank its community for participation. The drive would not have been successful without the collaboration of departments and students volunteers who were an added value to the event.
