ACK students ‘triumph’ at the Huawei ICT Skills Competition

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12: A total of 48 students from the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) took part in a recent Huawei ICT Skills Competition out of a total of 116 students nationwide. ACK students were placed first, third and seventh out of the top 10. Manager of the ACK Alumni and Career Placement Center, Dr Zeina Nehme, noted that this outstanding result reflected the dedication of the students to this opportunity. Dr Nehme added: “This was a great opportunity for our students to be part of an important national learning experience and we thank Huawei for their continuous efforts in developing our youth.”
The top 25 students in the competition will now take part in coaching through the Huawei Training Center and from these participants a team will be selected to represent Kuwait at the international finals in China. Of the 25 students in the short list group, 14 are from ACK and Dr Nehme expressed her great pride in this achievement.
Speaking on behalf of Huawei Technologies Kuwait Co WLL, the Public Relations Manager, Sky Gaojun stated that: “Turn out for the ICT Competition was a great success and it was an honor to provide this opportunity for students. Collaborating with ACK and its students was a pleasure. Both faculty and students were extremely keen and helpful to the Huawei team. ACK students showed commendable focus and determination which is what we hoped for in the competition. We are definitely looking forward to future collaborations with the College.”
