KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: The Parcel Unit at Hateen Post Office found a piece of antiquity in a parcel sent from a GCC country to an Arab expatriate. The recipient is undergoing interrogat­ion.

Meanwhile, officials at the Parcel Unit of Sadeeq Post Office detected immoral sexual materials inside a parcel containing clothing. The parcel has since been seized by concerned officials.

In another incident, Director of Land Customs at the General Customs Administra­tion Meshan AlSa’eedi disclosed that customs officers at Abdali Border foiled an attempt by one Arab expatriate to smuggle 1.6 kilogram of shabu hidden in a truck to the country from Iraq. He revealed the scanning machine indicated the presence of illicit drugs, which prompted officers at the border to do manual inspection that lead to the discovery.

the Encroachme­nt Demolition Department at the Kuwait Municipali­ty branch in the Capital Governorat­e Engineer Abdullah Jaber disclosed that Municipali­ty officials issued 215 citations and 119 warnings in November, while the revenues collected totaled KD3,900, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

He said the citations were issued for various violations – 98 advertisem­ents, 116 shop related issues and one for constructi­on. This is in addition to demolition of 18 advertisem­ent boards encroachin­g on public properties.

Department of Public Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior revealed that firefighte­rs from Mishref Fire Station on Sunday extinguish­ed a fire that engulfed a car along King Fahad Expressway toward Ahmadi governorat­e. The fire did not extend to nearby structures and no casualties were reported.
