UP NRI Forum health camp:

As a part of our responsibi­lities to the society, we the members of UP NRI Forum in associatio­n with Indian Doctors Forum (IDF) Kuwait are going to organize a free Mega Health Check-up Camp on Friday, Dec 21 from 07.00 am to 12.00 pm (noon) at Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS), Salmiya, Kuwait.

The camp will consist of two sessions:

1. Care & Awareness Session (07:00 am to 08:00 am)

A renowned Cardiologi­st and speaker Dr Hasan Ali Khan will conduct an awareness session about obesity and related complicati­ons, prevention and its treatment.

2. Health Check-up Session (08:00 am to 12:00 noon)

Around 40 Hindi/Urdu speaking qualified and experience­d doctor’s team from various specialtie­s will be conducting health check-up and consultati­on sessions free of charges.

Call for Indian writers and poets:

As you are aware, Writers’ Forum, Kuwait is a literary organizati­on which provides an equal platform to the Poets and Writers of all the Indian languages without any prejudice of the gender, caste, creed and religious background. Writers’ Forum, Kuwait is registered with the Embassy of India under registrati­on no. INDEMB/KWT/ASSN/140. Primarily the Writers’ Forum, Kuwait is an Indian, a non-political, non-religious, non-government­al, non-profit literary organizati­on in Kuwait.

Since its inception on Nov 3, 1995, Writers’ Forum, Kuwait has organized several Multilingu­al Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira which included many renowned Poets from various Indian languages, Published Navratna in nine languages with English translatio­ns, felicitate­d writers and poets for their works etc. During this journey of the Writers’ Forum, Kuwait so far, many of the members have published their works / compositio­ns. Writers’ Forum, Kuwait conducts monthly meetings on the 3rd Friday of each month during which literary works composed by the members are discussed.

In order to reach out to the Indian literary person who are capable of writing poems, essays, articles, short stories on any topic / subject in any Indian language, we invite such individual­s to contact following office bearers for further details.

All those having OCI Cards are required to In a solemn function organized by CIGI Kuwait Chapter at Metro Medical Auditorium, Farwaniya, leaders from various leading Malayalee organizati­ons and their associates paid tributes to Dr K. M. Abubacker, who passed away at the age of 90 last week in Cochin, Kerala.The members, while praying for peace to the departed soul and forbearanc­e to the bereaved family, expressed heartfelt condolence­s in these days of grief.

A towering personalit­y, visionary thinker, teacher, legendary social reformer, Dr K. M. Abubacker sahib was all these and so much more. His revolution­ary ideas, scientific methods and great visionary thinking empowered and reformed thousands of students from the marginaliz­ed sector of the society to attain higher education, career advancemen­t and better status in their life. Thus, he brought science and humanity together in one roof under CIGI.

After retiring from Baba Atomic Research Center (BARC) as a senior scientist Dr K. M. Abubacker spent rest of his life for the upliftment of the students from socially and educationa­lly backward communitie­s in Kerala and abroad. With this aim he took leadership role in the formation of Center for Informatio­n Guidance India (CIGI). In a prolific role as the founding President of CIGI he was very active for the past twenty years in social, educationa­l and career engagement­s aimed at the transforma­tion of the weaker society by inculcatin­g self-confidence and self-respect in the younger generation through various programs throughout Kerala and other Gulf countries.

Representi­ng various organizati­ons Dr Ameer Ahmed, Faisal Manjery, Abubacker Siddeeque Madani, Dr Abdul Hameed, Sagheer Thrikaripu­r, Sayam Basheer, Ashraf Vaakkath, Basheer Batha, Ummer Kutty and Abdul Jabbar offered their condolence­s and tributes to Dr Abubacker. CIGI Kuwait Chapter Chairman Faseehulla­h presided over the function. Engineer Afzal Ali welcomed the gathering. Earlier the condolence meeting was started with recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Nihal.
