The pace set by the openers continued with the arrival of Sunil at the crease and KVE looked well set to post a formidable total.

However, captain Bastaki had different ideas. He applied the brakes immediately by removing Sunil back in the first ball. At the other end he was aided by Khurram and Shahzad to tighten the screws to restrict KVE to only 167. Thomas scored a brilliant 84 for KVE by hitting the ball over the park.

Chasing a tricky 168 runs, Shaheen openers Ashraf and Hafeez, started cautiously before upping the tempo. Shaheen’s inning revolved around a quick fire 62 by Ashraf, aided ably by Hafeez, Afzal and Shahzad. The captain’s strategy for this match paid off and Shaheen crossed the target in 17.2 overs.
