‘Exhibits in Ethiopian Cultural Week reflect cultural & artistic diversity of the country’

Ethiopian-Kuwaiti relations ‘strong’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: The Assistant Secretary-General for the Culture Sector at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Dr Issa Al-Ansari, inaugurate­d the “Ethiopian Cultural Week”, which will last until Dec 6 at the Museum of Modern Art, reports Al-Anba daily.

Speaking of the latest developmen­t about the Ethiopian workers Chargé d’Affaires of the Ethiopian Embassy in Kuwait, Jarso said Ethiopia has presented a draft of the new labor agreement to the Kuwaiti counterpar­ts for review. This will be followed by signing of the agreement by both sides so “we are still expecting a response from our Kuwaiti brothers.

The event opened in the presence of Diplomatic corps, heads of diplomatic missions and ambassador­s.

Dr Issa Ansari said that the Ethiopian cultural week is a demonstrat­ion that reflects the uniqueness of a country that has 3,000 years of tradition, an extension and links to heavenly religions such as Christiani­ty and Islam, in the midst of 85 ethnic groups.

Al-Ansari pointed out that the exhibits in the Ethiopian cultural week reflect the cultural, artistic, and artistic diversity of Ethiopia. The exhibits included a rare collection of Quranic, historical and religious books.

He praised the Ethiopian folklore which shows the charm of African culture and said he enjoyed watching the diversity of ceramics, distinguis­hed from other types in terms of quality and purity.

For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Ethiopian Embassy in Kuwait lauded the strong Ethiopian-Kuwaiti relations, which he described as excellent and advanced on all levels.

He pointed out the importance of cultural exchange in supporting and strengthen­ing the popular relations between the two countries and providing a common ground for mutual understand­ing between them.

He also pointed out that the cultural week is an Ethiopian cultural event in Kuwait showing the cultural diversity that his country possesses. He pointed out the many strong ties between the two countries’ cultural and religious areas.

He pointed out Ethiopia is compatible with the Kuwaiti Labor Law and does not differ from the framework of the employment agreements signed between Kuwait and other countries. He pointed out the ease of procedures for the Ethiopian visa for Kuwaiti citizens and the possibilit­y of getting it in one day but generally not more than two days.
