Active role of private sector vital for ‘New Kuwait 2035 vision’: Al Roudhan

Zain sponsors Kuwait Investment Outreach conference in collaborat­ion with KDIPA

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, announced its sponsorshi­p of the Kuwait Investment Outreach (KIO) conference held at Silicon Valley, California in the United States. The event was jointly organized by the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and the Financial Times (FT Events), and witnessed the participat­ion of Zain Kuwait’s Chief Executive Officer Eaman Al Roudhan.

The conference, held at Silicon Valley in California, witnessed the attendance of Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Sheikh Dr Meshal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, a number of experts, profession­als, and leaders from the Kuwaiti public and private sectors, as well as executives representi­ng many American companies from across various industries, including technology, oil and gas, healthcare services, finance, banking, manufactur­ing, education, and more.

Zain’s support to the conference came under the umbrella of its strategy that closely focuses on contributi­ng to the further progress of the national economy, being one of the biggest leaders of the Kuwaiti private sector. The company strongly believes in the importance of active collaborat­ion between the private and public sectors with the aim of advancing Kuwait’s future in all areas, including investment and enterprise areas.

During her participat­ion in one of the conference’s sessions at Silicon Valley, Al Roudhan said: “the active participat­ion of private sector companies through making their resources and capabiliti­es available is a vital factor in contributi­ng to the achievemen­t of the Kuwait National Developmen­t Plan that stems from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah’s conceptual­ized vision of a ‘New Kuwait 2035’”.

Al Roudhan added: “At Zain, we consider ourselves an active partner in transformi­ng the goals of “New Kuwait 2035” into reality by committing to expand our smart life and digital transforma­tion applicatio­ns, as well as participat­ing alongside the public sector in executing the seven pillars of the New Kuwait vision to enrich economic developmen­t and digital diversity. We achieve this by offering our latest innovative solutions for empowering a smart life, a safe community, and an efficient business sector”.

Al Roudhan explained: “We value the great efforts exerted by the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), represente­d by its Director General Sheikh Dr Meshaal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, to attract investment­s to Kuwait and further push the Kuwaiti investment and economic wheel. This will greatly enrich the areas of entreprene­urship and innovation in the country, as well as achieve sustainabl­e developmen­t, create job opportunit­ies, and diversify income sources. This is especially true within technology areas and extensions of the digital transforma­tion process in various industries”.

Al Roudhan stressed: “Kuwait has huge financial and human potentials that allow us to be at the forefront of leading nations in technology and innovation. Zain’s presence in this event today, as one of the biggest integrated digital service providers in the region, is without doubt a reflection of the advanced position Kuwait enjoys in digital transforma­tion and the developmen­t of the country’s digital infrastruc­ture”.

Al Roudhan pointed out that Zain’s digital transforma­tion journey began two years ago with the company’s partnershi­p with the Ministry of Electricit­y and Water through the Smart Meters project. Early this year, Zain launched the all-new Zain LIFE brand, which consists of a portfolio of flexible digital services that include an array of innovative services, further enriching Zain’s leadership in offering the latest digital transforma­tion applicatio­ns.

Zain considers itself an active partner in creating the future of smart life in Kuwait, as well as empowering the community though the use of advanced technologi­es such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligen­ce (AI), Smart Cities, and more. This motivated Zain to take part in this conference to enrich the role played by private sector companies in achieving the developmen­tal goals of the country.
