UGC hand ‘Maroons’ first defeat of season

Soccer Kerala keep Santos winless

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: KIFF League matches last Friday started with two of the oldest clubs taking on each other.

United Goan Centre prevailed over Goa Maroons with a score of 3-0. It was Goa Maroons’ first defeat of the season. Mushin and Kishor scored one each while Jobin scored a self goal. Ramsheed of United Goan Centre was awarded the man of the match award, presented by KIFF Vice-President Robert Bernard.

In the second match, winless Santos United once again tasted defeat in the hands of Shifa Jazeer-sponsored Soccer Kerala with a score of 3-0. Santos United started well, but could not do any harm to the opponents when opportunities came their way. Shafeeq scored 2 while Vassem score the other for Soccer Kerala. Mohammed Shafeeq of Soccer Kerala was awarded the man of the match award, presented by exKIFF general-secretary Christopher Fernandes.

In the third match, FC Sparx were held by Pen Friends United, score being 1-1. FC Sparx scored through Abraham while Hussain equalized for Pen Friends United. Abdul Lathif of Pen Friends was awarded the man of the match award, presented to him by KIFF Asst Sports Secretary Majeed P.A.
