Bedoun probed for seeking extremist group’s help
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: Criminal detectives have commenced investigation to find three individuals who assaulted two Kuwaitis and cut their arteries and muscles before fleeing the scene with a sword.
A security source said rescue officers and paramedics reached the scene immediately after the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received a distress call concerning two Kuwaitis in a pool of blood who were writhing in pain at a location in Messila. Paramedics referred the victims to Mubarak Hospital where doctors operated on them to fix the damaged arteries and muscles.
The victims told security operatives that the driver of the three suspects was moving at excessive speed when suddenly he pulled over at a parking lot off Messilah Beach, and nearly hit their vehicle. This made the victims confront the suspects for reckless driving that nearly cost them their lives. To their surprise, the suspects alighted from their car with swords in their hands and started assaulting them. Detectives have collected vivid description of the suspects with data of their car to aid the investigation.
Bedoun arrested: An unidentified bedoun has been arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution for allegedly making contact with an extremist group outside the country, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, the security authorities have taken all necessary measures in this regard including a search of the place when the suspect lives.
The source asserted no complaint in this regard has been filed by the head of the Head of Central Agency to Remedy the Status of Illegal Residents (stateless) Saleh Al-Fadallah. The source denied information and news reports published by some social media outlets in this regard.
The source pointed out the details of case show the time factor when the concerned authorities started monitoring the defendant with the suspect who is residing outside the country.
The source said the bedoun was in contact with an Arab on the possibility of getting weapon to use it in the operations inside the country.
The source asserted the concerned authorities are dealing seriously with such cases that threaten the safety and security of the state.
The source said the suspect was taken into custody last November and referred to the Public Prosecution.
Embassy negligent: A number of Kuwaitis in Paris, France expressed resentment over the alleged negligence of the Kuwaiti Embassy as their repeated calls went unanswered; although the embassy issued an advisory for them to avoid demonstrations, riots and clashes with police, reports Alrai daily.
In telephone calls with the daily, these Kuwaitis expressed their wish to submit their complaints to Kuwaiti Ambassador to France Sami Al-Suleiman.
Arson case filed: An arson case was filed against a citizen who deliberately set fire to two cars, reports Alrai daily.
Security sources revealed the citizen suspected the behavior of his Egyptian wife so he put her under surveillance to make sure she has no relationship with her ex-husband.
Sources said the citizen was suspicious whenever his wife dolled up when she went out, so he headed to a petrol station where he purchased a bottle of benzene which he poured into his wife’s car that was parked in front of a building and set fire to it.
