Kuwait Saree Speak holds ‘retro rendezvous’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: The mood was upbeat and happy and the weather too did not disappoint. For on this bright sunny Friday morning was the “Retro Rendezvous’” that was to take place at one of the luxurious conference rooms of the famous Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a, Kuwait.
The Saree Speak , is a common platform for ladies with love for the six yarn where Indian women share, promote and rediscover this Indian traditional weave and explore the rich cultural heritage of Indian states through this beautiful fabric of India.
In Kuwait, the Saree Speak group is led by the efficient Organizing Committee team of ladies namely Mrs Shubhangi, Mrs Sheetal, Mrs Sampada and Mrs Shirish. The group of these four enthusiastic women, who very successfully hosted its second get together in less than a year.
Their very first event on Jan 12, 2018 was a huge hit with the highlight being the “Luxury Limousine Ride” enjoyed by its members. After this success, the members did expect more and were not disappointed as the next one was on a more grand scale. All the participants were pampered at one of the best 5 star hotels in town, namely Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a from 11.30 am onwards. Since the theme for this event was “Retro Bollywood,”one couldn’t but watch in awe as all the excited and eager ladies took us back to the 70s n 80s fashion era. The whole atmosphere was transformed to the magical era as the ladies performed impromptu and their magical performance won the hearts of the judges. Nonstop entertainment was guaranteed throughout, with number of games as exciting prizes awaited them.
A choicest array of Arabic and Indian delicacies lay waiting for this ardent saree lovers towards the end of the event. One couldn’t but thank the chefs at Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a for the lovely spread of be it salads or desserts or the main course. Happy with the sumptuous lunch and galore of prizes the saree clad tribe tapered off.

For the uninitiated, Saree Speak is a (Strictly Ladies) FB closed group which encourages and endorses this beautiful drape (The Saree of Course) in all its grandeur and the Kuwait Chapter has already crossed the century mark on Facebook and its tribe is increasing pretty fast.
