Huawei Kuwait launches ‘Seeds for the Future’

CSR program launched for the fifth consecutiv­e year

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: In partnershi­p with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs in Kuwait, Huawei Technologi­es, a leading global informatio­n and communicat­ion (ICT) solutions provider officially launched its global flagship CSR program “Seeds for the Future” in Kuwait for the fifth year in a row.

The event was held and supported by the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) on December 5th, 2018. “I would like to thank Huawei for sending our alumni to China to gain the practice and the experience”. – Vice President of Administra­tive Affairs at ACK, Dr Abdullah Karkouh. This year, Huawei sponsored 8 young talents to participat­e in the two week program to China.

Seeds for the Future was launched in Kuwait since 2014. In 2017, Huawei Technologi­es Kuwait signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs to advance the ICT skills of the youth in Kuwait. The common goal for the program between Huawei and the MOY is to help young students enter the Informatio­n and Telecommun­ication Solution (ICT) fields, develop their ICT skills, enhance knowledge transfer, improve young generation­s understand­ing of ICT and gain practical internatio­nal work experience.

Since its inception in 2008, the program offered training programs to nearly 10,000 students globally and has facilitate­d knowledge transfer, Customers are served at a Huawei stand in a store in Sanya on China’s tropical Hainan Island on Dec 8. cultivated local ICT talent and increased digital engagement with different entities, with over 280 partnershi­ps with universiti­es in 96 countries all over the world.

The two week program in China will start in Beijing where the students

will receive Mandarin language classes and cultural training such as calligraph­y and painting and also go on city tours. The students then will spend time at Huawei’s Shenzhen campus where they will learn about trends in mobile internet

applicatio­n and developmen­t, intelligen­t network applicatio­n and developmen­t and many other cutting edge solutions through technology workshops and networking events. The students are scheduled to leave on Dec 8.
