Philippine Charge d’Affaires lauds Pinoy Arabia on 4th anniversary

he “4Tunes” composed of singing champs Chan-Chan Cervantes, Erwin Monge, Nomer Cervantes and Ariane Melad bagged the grand prize in the Pinoy Arabia FM Quatropella Singing Competition on Friday at the Kuwait Boy Scouts Association Auditorium in Hawally with their performance of “ParuParung Bukid”, a Filipino folk song with a modern twist to the delight of the audience.
Pinoy Arabia FM, the most listened to Internet-based community service radio station catering to the Filipinos in Kuwait, the Middle East and across the globe organized the “Quatropella”, a quartet acappella singing competition on the radio in celebration of its fourth anniversary.
Trailing behind the 4Tunes was the Di4Gent composed of Rawan Sunael Muhammed, McAdrian Lumio, Camille Salvador and Stahl Zimon Tarnate while landing on the second runner-up was the Clover IV composed of Nadia Adam, Hyacinthe Nabo, Chloe Gilbuena and Christianne Francisco.
The 4Tunes received KD1,000 cash prize, culinary scholarships from CEE Network Kuwait, gift vouchers from City Centre, LBC and gift packs from Sebamed and Souffle Beauty. The board of judges composed of Suganda Menon, Souffle Beauty Co-Founder Tarfa Al-Farhan, CEE Network Projects Manager and GMA Correspondent Ricky Laxa, City Centre Shuwaikh Senior Store Manager Bassam Nateil and Ronald Allan Salonga of City Centre rated the contestants based on the following criteria: harmony/blending (40%), Voice Quality (30%), Mastery/Stage Presence (20%) and Audience Impact (10%). The scores were tabulated by Oliver Isip.

The awarding ceremony was led by Philippine Charge d’Affaires Mohd Noordin Pendosina Lomondot, the board of judges and sponsors.

Infusing entertainment during the intermission were Peter Daniel Carvajal who sang his original composition “Broken”, Shaima did a bombastic performance of “All I want for Christmas”, Liaah Guinto crooned mellifluously her original composition “Over Thinking”, Jumel Carvajal gave a powerful rendition of a Christmas song and the Next Episode wowed the audience with their dance routine.
