Kuwait’s Al-Qurain Festival to kick off Jan 8

Abdel-Dayem ALEXENDRIA, Dec 11, (KUNA): Kuwait is eager to prop up its tourism industry in a bid to propel its economy to global prominence, said an official on Tuesday.

The tourism sector is crucial given the fact that it forms an integral part of the economy, Kuwait’s assistant undersecretary for tourism Yousef Mustafa told KUNA after talks bringing together ministers of tourism from across the Arab region.
The talks revolved around measures needed to bolster tourism in the Arab region as part of sustainable development goals, in addition to various proposals over these efforts, he added.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL)
announced on Tuesday the launch of “The 25th Al-Qurain Cultural Festival” kicks off on January 8th and proceeds till 25th of the month – which will include performances and exhibitions.
Assistant Secretary-General at Kuwait’s NCCAL Dr Essa Al-Ansari told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday that the celebration of the festival will be different, as a special anniversary
ceremony of 25 years since its start at 1994.
The festival aims at supporting local, Arab and international culture and artistic fields, he said.
