ABK concludes its 7th Annual Football Tournament

Bank promotes sports, healthy lifestyle from early age

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) today announced the conclusion of the 7th Annual Football Tournament, which was held at ‘The Corner’ soccer field in Kuwait City, opposite Kuwait Towers. The exciting day-long event took place on Dec 5 from 4 pm until 9 pm. A total of 8 Academies for children between the ages of 9 and 10 years old participat­ed in the tournament: Kuwait Brazouka Academy, The Pharaohs Academy, Scorers Academy, British Academy, Kuwait Internatio­nal Academy, Juventus Academy, Strikers Academy, and Samba Academy.

The ABK football tournament is part of the bank’s annual social program which aims to engage with the public by encouragin­g sport and a healthy lifestyle from an early age. The tournament, which was launched in 2011 has grown substantia­lly in popularity year-onyear.

Event

Fawzy Al Thunayan, General Manager, Board Affairs at ABK alongside Ali Al Baghli, Senior Manager Corporate Communicat­ions, attended the event to present the prizes to the winning teams. The First Place was won by “Strikers Academy” with each team member receiving KD 60. The second place was taken by “Scorers Academy” with each team member receiving KD 40.

Mohammed Al Husayan, the team player of Juventus Academy received the prize for ‘Best Player’ while Ammar Rasmy who played for the Strikers Academy won the prize for ‘Top Scorer’ of the tournament. The prize for the ‘Best Goal Keeper’ was taken by Hamad Mishari from the Scorers Academy.
