Quiz master Justin Antony – man with a mission
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: The hall is filled with thousands of enthusiastic students, teachers and the public; thunderous applause welcome to the stage a young man with modern suit … all for the Knowledge Olympiad, especially on UN. There is pin drop silence as he reads out the name of finalists selected from the prelims. Justin Antony, one of the most prolific quiz masters in South India, is in the line of the busiest quiz masters in the ring. His has a very busy schedule at various places in conducting quiz for the students in connection with the UN Day Celebrations.
When someone talks of the students, it is about scoring high marks and entertainments, but for Antony it is developing the general knowledge for a better future. The first generation graduate from a fisher family, Antony has been honoured by the President of India for the multifaceted skills in quizzing, writing and social work. He is a member in the International Youth Council founded at the Youth Assembly at the UN in 2007 (IYC is to build a global forum and platform on which all young people can develop a unified voice and take collective action toward social, economic and environmental progress).

It is noteworthy that a total of 2,400 students from 24 Indian schools in Kuwait have participated in the competition classified into 5 groups and path to attain the status of a more seasoned and stand alone quiz master; Antony has lakhs of quiz fans across India and abroad. He is best known as presenter of quiz, in the recent years, and is the regular quiz master of the organisations of international repute. As a quizzer, he is most famous for winning the “University Brain : Rephiso Quiz” and surprisingly hosted the same event later.
To pay back to the society, Antony who moves with the theme “let the world have, what we have”, is instrumental and his wide ranging interest plays a role in promoting quiz, especially UN, among the students. The wide range of questions on UN make everyone feels sitting inside the UN. His recent show, a well fought quiz where the participants displayed immense sportsmanship was hailed by the international audience as a festival of knowledge.
Recalling his events, Antony said that the quiz for the international schools in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking is the most memorable one where the Philippines School won the championship.
A motivational speaker, his role includes the keynote speech at the Model United Nations, training students in Model UN, Mock Parliament, etc. His recent 90 minutes inspiring speech in for the IAS aspirants at the Anna Centenary Library, Chennai is compared with that of Swami Vivekananda’s speech in Chicago.
From a labourer to CEO of Knowledge Foundation, Antony who deserves an appreciation from the peace makers for his yeomen service of a global citizen through his awareness creating activities says that he would tirelessly contribute to make sure that the rural students learn more about the UN – its formation, objectives, main organs, agencies, leaders, honours, struggles to make this world peaceful.
