Job title must match degree

-

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: Public Authority for Manpower is about to start implementing the decision to stop the transfer of expatriates (former and newly arrived residents holding university degree in education) whose occupations on their work permit are not identical to their academic specializations to private schools and private institutes, reports Al-Rai daily.

An official source stated the decision came after Civil Service Commission suspended the idea of converting specialized qualifications holders such

as teachers, lawyers, engineers, doctors and accountants whose work permits and job titles do not match their specialties to allow them to work in government sector. He added the commission monitors the turnout of educators transferred to private schools and institutes in a step that may help in preparing for their future entry to public schools, as long as they obtained work permit with job title that match their qualifications.

The source pointed out that the commission is currently in a precise description of all occupations, which the labor market need, in coordination with Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training. He also said the step is aimed at screening the labor market of professions that do not conform to the disciplines of study and address the campaign against fake certificates.
