KUWAIT CITY:
Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Subaih issued a decision on the dissolution of Al-Salaam Humanitarian and Charitable Society for violating the Charity Act Law and regulatory decisions, reports Alrai daily.
The decision is based on the memo from the Charities and Foundations Department dated Nov 19, detailing irregularities and violations committed by the society.
A knowledgeable source from the ministry disclosed the decision was taken after many diplomatic and security authorities reported irregularities concerning money transfers.
On the other hand, Board Chairman of the society Jassim Al-Own condemned the decision; pointing out the society has achieved huge success although it was established just two years ago, compared with those established 40 years ago. He cited as an example the aid caravans that the society sent to Syria and Yemen recently.
