The thrill and wonder of Christmas
Many of us wait for it every year, also use this merry time to build stronger bridges with our loved ones, but seriously who doesn’t love Christmas time? Maybe Ebenezer Scrooge for one, but he soon learnt his lesson and rode back on the merry wagon faster than you can say Merry Christmas. It took Ebenezer 3 ghostly visits to make him comprehend the importance of this time of year and in my humble guess, many of us think it’s a waste of money, family visits and gift wrappings, but it isn’t all the above, Christmas … is a time of serious forgiveness, a time to put all ills behind oneself and carry one, a time to take from yourself and give that to others, a time to open your heart and accept others and who you are and be happy while promising yourself to try to better your life and others this coming year.
A Restart Button if you want a word for it – a re-boost of energy and most importantly, a refresh of all previous goof-ups ... a delete button so to speak. Annually provided, only once a year to use for all who need to tap or swipe clean any ugly memory or bad omen and replace it with the gift of a Merry Happy Christmas, but that is not all, yes! There is more! This time of year makes your heart so lite with positivity, with clear thoughts of a brighter future beaming down on you, whether you like it or not. It is often said that the Christmas mood is gracefully contagious, and you soon find yourself sucked in the festivities that would put a smile on anyone’s face.
Mind you, that it is also a time to gift wrap and gift away, so apart from the wondrous mood it puts us in, it is also a time to spend, spend and spend some more, but I’ll tell you a secret, especially if you have a huge family like mine that are all individually so different in tastes, you can never go wrong when you D.I.Y or do it yourself gift to all members of your immediate family, especially when you are running a tight ship in the budget. Do it yourself gift basket are a wonderful Christmas gift that keeps on giving, that all love and use on a daily basis, it can contain D.I.Y scrubs, soaps or mixed oils, that you can easily make at home, for example to make a scrub at home you can use grounded coffee beans and brown sugar with a dash of vanilla scented organic oil and some pure virgin olive oil, just whip them up real quick, until they are supple still flaky and right into a clear glass jar decorated with some fine ribbons and a note that can make a hard man cry with sentiments.
Plus a gift with this sentiment not only costs practically nothing but time to prepare, it tends to mean a lot to whom you gift it to, reasons be, was hand-made with love. So my darling reader, put on your thinking cap and get right to it! The more the gifts are simple in cost but elaborate with thought, the more they are extraordinary to the feelings of the heart, especially if they are done, decorated and executed solely by you.
