KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: Acting Director of the Kuwaiti Urology Board, Dr Tarek Al-Shayji, has said that any problem that would have occurred with the training of doctors enrolled in the program has been solved after re-distributing the trainees to 3 hospitals, reports Al-Rai daily.

“In coordination with the Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialties (KIMS), the trainees were distributed directly to the Amiri and Farwaniya hospitals and the general surgery unit for children at the Ibn Sina Hospital to continue their training at the highest levels of quality,” Al-Shayji told the daily.

According to the report, doctors were unable to train in more than one hospital on Dec 2, and through immediate contact with KIMS, which represents the official umbrella for the protection of trained doctors, trainees were quickly redistributed to other hospitals to avoid any repercussions.

He pointed out, the number of trainers currently exceeds 13 who work in 3 hospitals, as well as support the training of Kuwaiti doctors in the urinary system with visiting doctors from the Gulf States, Europe, Canada and the United States of America.

He said he is proud, the “Kuwaiti Board of Urologists was the first board to do the scientific research, which was praised by all the other boards after the idea gained their admiration. In addition, the Kuwaiti Board of Urinary Tracts is proud that the trainee doctors have published many scientific research and studies in international medical journals and write articles in medical books.”

“The Kuwaiti Board is one of the strongest programs at the Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialties, with a local and international certificate from the Canadian Evaluation Team affiliated to the Royal Canadian College.”

He announced the opening of the door to admission to the Kuwaiti Urological Program to prepare to receive a new batch of applicants after a year of hard work by former and current board officials, after the decision to suspend the temporary admission to the board by the Kuwait Institute of Medical Specializations in coordination with the Ministry of Health last year saying the impact of some of the internal problems have been dealt with.
