Parliament meets Tuesday, Wednesday

-

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24, (KUNA): The Parliament is scheduled to hold its regular session on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss a number of agenda items, including a second deliberation on drafting a law to manage credit information exchange, in addition to a draft law on mental health and patient care.

It will kick off the session with ratifying amendments, questions, and messages, in addition to reviewing the Amiri speech at opening of the third session of the 15th legislative term in order to refer it to the parliamentary committee tasked with a response to the speech.

The two-day session will also discuss parliamentary committees’ reports on investigation requests regarding health ministry’s financial, legal, and administrative violations, and infrastructure deficit to deal with effects of the heavy rains that hit the country recently.

Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Dr Nayef AlHajraf discussed on Sunday with Bahraini counterpart Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa AlKhalifa economic relations between the two countries.

A statement by the finance ministry said the meeting also tackled views and joint ambitions by the two countries, and the latest financial developments in the region.

Factories dotting the Kuwait Bay region will be shut down, the Environment Public Authority (EPA) announced on Sunday.

EPA said in a statement that it had coordinated with competent authorities to begin removing the factories in the region, as a prelude to rehabilitating the area.

Kuwait Bay is home to various species of fish and creatures. Authorities had protested high pollution in the bay waters, which apparently caused recurrent fish death and degradation of the water quality.
