Public Relations and Media Unit at the General Fire Service Department recently announced the participat­ion of 15 government authoritie­s in a comprehens­ive training program at Arifjan to manage earthquake­s and other natural disasters, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a statement, head of the organizing committee of the program and Fire Chief of Farwaniya Governorat­e Colonel Maath Al-Hamadi said coordinati­on meeting of the participat­ing authoritie­s was held recently to discuss the difficulti­es in distributi­ng tasks.

He affirmed trust in the participat­ing authoritie­s and urged them to play their respective roles and get ready to face unforeseen events or possible disasters that may hit the country in future.

New KAC route:

As part of a plan to expand the network of its routes, Kuwait Airways Corporatio­n (KAC) announced the inclusion of Quanzhou, China in its flight schedule. It has become an aspect of the summer operation program that also includes several other new routes for seasonal or permanent operations.

In a press statement, KAC clarified the rumor spread on social media about the purported inclusion of Shanghai route, indicating the new route is not Shanghai but Quanzhou. The corporatio­n assured its numerous customers that it offers the best services and many options to passengers.

Probe underway:

Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah has confirmed that the Embassy of Kuwait in Egypt, particular­ly Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt Mohammad Al-Thewaikh, is monitoring the latest developmen­ts in the murder of a Kuwaiti in his 50s.

Al-Jarallah told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Ambassador and a team from the embassy went to Tanta, Egypt – the place where the murder happened – to follow up reports with Egyptian security authoritie­s declaring that the motive behind the killing was robbery.

He praised the Egyptian authoritie­s for their hard work and full cooperatio­n in solving the case. He said Kuwait trusts the steps and measures being taken by the security authoritie­s in Egypt.
