Pakistan Naval Ships ‘Khaibar’ & ‘PMSS Zhob’ to visit Kuwait on Dec 26
Pakistani Naval Ships, “KHAIBAR” & “PMSS ZHOB” will be visiting Kuwait on a goodwill visit from Dec 26, to Dec 29. Pakistan Naval Ships periodically undertake goodwill visits to the State of Kuwait which provide excellent opportunity to Pakistan Navy officials to interact with their counterparts at brotherly country Kuwait. It also helps in further improving the strong relations between the two countries.
PNS “KHAIBAR” is the fourth of eight Type-21 AMAZON Class Frigates. The ship was acquired by Pakistan Navy from UK in early 90s. After its induction, it has undergone major modifications and up-gradation in its weapons and sensors. While “PMSS ZHOB” is the fourth ship of the HINGOL Class MPVs -6HT(600 Tons Maritime Patrol Vessels). It was launched on 9th August, 2018. The ship is fitted with four high speed diesel engines driving four shafts that provide sustained high speeds and excellent maneuverability.
The Commanding Officer of the of PNS “KHAIBAR”, Captain Muhammad Kashif Farhan joined Pakistan Navy in 1991. The Commanding Officer of the “PMSS ZHOB”, Commander Irfan Bashir, joined Pakistan Navy on July 1, 2001. During their stay in Kuwait, they will pay courtesy calls on the dignitaries of Kuwait Navy.
A dinner reception will also be held onboard which would be attended by the high civil/military officials of the State of Kuwait, diplomats, notables and representatives of the Pakistani community.
