Ministers named
In a press conference at the National Assembly Media Center, Committee Rapporteur MP Mohammed Al-Huwaila confirmed that the concerned officials from the ministry and teachers’ unions attended the meeting. He said the committee will take into consideration the opinions of these officials to improve the work environment and financial position of employees in the educational sector.
He asserted the committee is keen on improving the conditions of employees in this sector as part of ongoing efforts to develop the quality of education in the country.
In another development, MP Omar Al-Tabtabaei urged Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan to implement reforms in his ministry and initiate investigations into what he described as suspicious steps taken by officials.
“I believe the minister will take the necessary action to combat corruption,” said the MP while warning the minister that the Assembly does not tolerate shortcomings.
On the resignation of the oil minister, the lawmaker believes this
puts the country in a new light; hoping the new minister will lead this vital sector toward new horizons. He pointed out the path for the next minister will be littered with obstacles, considering the investigative committee formed by the government confirmed the accuracy of issues raised in the interpellation of the former minister.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet held its weekly meeting at Seif Palace Monday afternoon under the chairmanship of His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad AlSabah.

Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah informed the Cabinet with the results of Netherlands’ Foreign Minister Steve Blok visit to the country, which aimed to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Netherlands’ Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to Kuwait and its role in helping to maintain peace and stability in the region.
The visit witnessed the signing of an agreement on aviation services between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the Cabinet with the results of Mongolia’ Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar visit to the country, which discussed ways to enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries.
On the other hand, the Cabinet praised the efforts and achievements of the State institutions, which resulted in the promotion of the Kuwait Stock Exchange into an emerging market within the Dow Jones S&P Index.
This step was part of the strategic plan for the future to improve the business environment in Kuwait and to provide investment opportunities and increasing the attractiveness of the market to local and foreign investors in order to transform Kuwait into a financial and economic center.
