Arab media role against ‘hatred’ lauded
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf discussed on Sunday with visiting Lord Mayor of London, global ambassador for the UK’s financial and professional services industry, Peter Estlin, means of boosting bilateral commercial ties between the two countries.
The Ministry of Finance said in a press statement that the meeting tackled economic cooperation, especially in investment opportunities in both governmental and private sectors, in addition to boosting collaboration in the fields of technology, health and education.
Bahrain’s Minister of Information Ali AlRumaihi on Sunday underscored key role of the Arab media for facing rhetoric of hatred.
Bahrain News Agency (BNA) said the minister was speaking during a meeting with Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum and Chairperson the Kuwaiti Society for Media and Communication, Madi Khamees.
Minister Al-Rumaihi lauded the forum role in boosting the joint Arab media and contributing to the efforts to enhance understanding among the elites in the Arab countries.
The secretary-general of Kuwait’s parliament Allam Al-Kandari held talks on Sunday with his counterpart in Morocco’s Shura Council, Dr Saeed Mukadam.
The talks revolved around issues of mutual concern, in addition to the latest happenings across Arab parliaments, according to the Kuwaiti parliament’s Al-Dostor news service.
The Moroccan official, alongside a delegation accompanying him, arrived in Kuwait earlier on Sunday to kick off a three-day official visit.
