Kuwait-UK dis­cuss means to boost mu­tual trade re­la­tions

Arab me­dia role against ‘ha­tred’ lauded

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Min­is­ter of Fi­nance Dr Nayef Al-Ha­jraf dis­cussed on Sun­day with vis­it­ing Lord Mayor of Lon­don, global am­bas­sador for the UK’s fi­nan­cial and pro­fes­sional ser­vices in­dus­try, Peter Estlin, means of boost­ing bi­lat­eral com­mer­cial ties be­tween the two coun­tries.

The Min­istry of Fi­nance said in a press state­ment that the meet­ing tack­led eco­nomic co­op­er­a­tion, es­pe­cially in in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties in both gov­ern­men­tal and pri­vate sec­tors, in ad­di­tion to boost­ing col­lab­o­ra­tion in the fields of tech­nol­ogy, health and ed­u­ca­tion.

Bahrain’s Min­is­ter of In­for­ma­tion Ali AlRu­maihi on Sun­day un­der­scored key role of the Arab me­dia for fac­ing rhetoric of ha­tred.

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) said the min­is­ter was speak­ing dur­ing a meet­ing with Sec­re­tary-Gen­eral of the Arab Me­dia Fo­rum and Chair­per­son the Kuwaiti So­ci­ety for Me­dia and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion, Madi Khamees.

Min­is­ter Al-Ru­maihi lauded the fo­rum role in boost­ing the joint Arab me­dia and con­tribut­ing to the ef­forts to en­hance un­der­stand­ing among the elites in the Arab coun­tries.

The sec­re­tary-gen­eral of Kuwait’s par­lia­ment Al­lam Al-Kan­dari held talks on Sun­day with his coun­ter­part in Mo­rocco’s Shura Coun­cil, Dr Saeed Mukadam.

The talks re­volved around is­sues of mu­tual con­cern, in ad­di­tion to the lat­est hap­pen­ings across Arab par­lia­ments, ac­cord­ing to the Kuwaiti par­lia­ment’s Al-Dos­tor news ser­vice.

The Mo­roc­can of­fi­cial, along­side a del­e­ga­tion ac­com­pa­ny­ing him, ar­rived in Kuwait ear­lier on Sun­day to kick off a three-day of­fi­cial visit.
