ISPs air grievance over hike in rates

-

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: The main Internet service providers have prepared a letter of grievance to be submitted to the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Services Khalid AlRoudhan, in protest against the decision that was issued at the end of last year to increase the rental value, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources.

The sources told the newspapers that the companies have begun to collect signatures of their representatives and the document will be handed over to the minister in an attempt to discourage the ministry from implementing its decision to increase rents on the offices to 400 percent.

Sources added that the ministry has taken its executive procedures to implement the decision starting this month, as the new prices were set in the financial system for the collection of these amounts, which confirms the need for Internet companies to adhere to these prices starting this month.
