OTC trading rises by 40.9%

Kuwait’s Over the Counter Market (OTC) has witnessed during the last week an increase of 40.9 percent compared to the previous week, as the total trading reached 6.19 million shares at a value of KD 951,000 (around USD three million) done through 15 transactio­ns.

OTC report issued on Sunday indicated that ‘immediate’ transactio­ns recorded a negative performanc­e during the week, as the trading reached 280,5 shares, at a value of KD 28,000 (around $93,000) done through 12 transactio­ns.

Boursa Kuwait had launched OTC as a new trading platform for those companies that are not listed on the bourse.

OTC transactio­ns are carried out through licensed brokerage offices working under Capital Markets Authority bylaws and Boursa Kuwait rules. (KUNA)
