Debt no obstacle in residence renewal

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: The General Department of Residence Affairs has rejected a proposal submitted by the General Department for Monitoring and Inspection of the Ministry of Interior not to accept residence renewal transactions from citizens who owe debt to any party, reports Al-Anba daily.

The proposal required the department to run a check with the Sentences Enforcement Department before accepting the request for residence renewal.

The residence department explained any delay or refraining from renewing the residence permit will open the door for them to sue the ministry and demand compensation for any harm caused to them.
