Kuwait’s child prodigy Al Shamlan delights audience with piano recital

A classical piano recital featuring best-known child prodigy Lulwa Al-Shamlan was held on Feb 6 at Yarmouk Cultural Center as part of the Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah’s weekly Music Circle. Lulwa Al-Shamlan, who is currently in her final year of secondary school at Wells Music School, started learning piano at the age of 4. From the age of five, she started performing in many concerts.

Lulwa Al Shamlan, Kuwait’s best-known child prodigy, delighted the audience at the Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah’s weekly Music Circle with a Classical Piano Recital.

The performanc­e held at Yarmouk Cultural Centre on Wednesday to a full house demonstrat­ed the youngster’s exceptiona­l talent.

Al Shamlan started learning the piano at the age of four and within a short time, demonstrat­ed improvemen­t that would normally be seen over several years. She began performing in many concerts from the age of five which all received favourable reviews by audiences and media.

In 2009, Lulwa auditioned to Wells Music School in the UK and was accepted as a piano specialist.

Since then she has been the recipient of many awards and accolades locally and globally and continues to capture the hearts of her listeners everywhere.
