Heavy rush on ‘Ghazali’ due to mishap

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: A big traffic signboard fell on Ghazali Road after a heavy vehicle crashed into a bridge, resulting in a huge traffic jam on the road, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, securityme­n, fire-fighters and paramedics rushed to the location to find the big signboard on the road. The motorists driving on the road at the time of the incident managed to narrowly escape. No casualties were reported.

The incident caused heavy traffic jam not only on Ghazali Road but also the Fifth Ring Road and Fourth Ring Road. Securityme­n removed the signboard from the road and organized the traffic

Necessary action was taken against the driver of the heavy vehicle.

Meanwhile, General Department of Public Relations and Security Media at Ministry of Interior announced the opening of a temporary diversion along Wafra Road-Mina Abdullah (Road No. 306) linking King Fahad Expressway in order to demolish the metal bridge at the location. According to a press release issued by the ministry, the road will be opened on Friday morning in coordinati­on with the Public Authority for Road and Transporta­tion (PART).
