Awqaf keen to fill ‘vacant positions’ of asst undersecretaries from within

KEPS launches Safari Beaches Program

-

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shou’la affirmed the keenness of the ministry to fill the vacancies of assistant undersecretaries from within the ministry, as the ministry is rich in competencies and expertise that contribute to achieving its vision of leading the Islamic work in the Islamic world, reports Al-Rai daily.

He explained that he met with the Higher Planning Committee in Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and requested amendment of the rules of official functions and external conferences so that they are based on criteria that ensure the rights of employees.

Regarding the most important amendments to the rules, Al-Shou’la said a committee will be formed to deal with the official functions for the adoption of names and conferences in which the ministry shall participate without involving the authority of the minister or the undersecretary in order to achieve justice and objectivity in the selection process, and without any nepotism and favoritism with the need for funds in the budget.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS) has launched the second part of the Safari Beaches Program for the current school year, reports Alrai daily.

KEPS started the program two years ago to document natural life in Kuwait’s beaches in coordination with volunteers and environmental experts; in addition to seminars, lectures and workshops.

Member of KEPS Board of Directors Nawwaf Al-Mowail explained the program’s goals include assessment of beaches; raising public awareness on the importance of beaches, rock formations and sand; implementation of strategic plans to manage beaches; and submission of scientific reports in this regard.
