FIA Sport Regional Congress opens
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10, (KUNA): The International Automobiles Federation (FIA) opened its Fifth Sport Regional Congress for the Middle East and North Africa in Kuwait on Saturday with 19 countries taking part.
The gathering, being held under the patronage of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, will last until Feb 11, said Isa Hamza, CEO of Kuwait International Automobile Club (KIAC).
This is the second time for Kuwait to host such an event, Hamza told KUNA, noting that FIA President Jean Todt and Vice-President Mohammad bin Selim take part in the congress.
Heads of the auto sport clubs and associations from 19 countries across the MENA region started the activities of the congress with a meeting behind closed doors, he added.
The agenda of the congress, organized by KIAC in collaboration with FIA, includes workshops, visits by the participating missions to Kuwait Motor Town on Monday.
