In an unrelated development, the Misdemeanor Court of Appeals cancelled the verdict issued by a lower court which sentenced a man in his 20s in absentia to six-month imprisonment for allegedly stealing his neighbor’s vehicle and attaching the number plate of her vehicle to his vehicle.
According to the case file, the plaintiff explained that she parked her vehicle in front of her father’s house, and when she returned one week later, she was shocked to find the vehicle missing. She blamed the neighbor for the act, as she found the number plate of her vehicle attached to the back of his vehicle. However, the neighbor denied the allegations, insisting that he is not aware of who stole the vehicle or transferred the number plate to his vehicle. He affirmed that the number plate did not belong to him.
During the court session, the defense counsel stressed that there are no evidences to prove his client committed the acts that he is accused of.
