Burial rules stay
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: Kuwait Municipal Council in its ordinary session chaired by Osama Al-Otaibi rejected a proposal that calls for burial of deceased expatriate Sunni Muslims within the governorate they lived in, which was to be determined by the addresses on their civil ID cards. They then decided to stick to the existing procedures.
The council members went ahead to approve request of the Projects Development Department to allocate a site for selling tents in Jahra governorate, as well as a proposal to construct an exit on Naseem roundabout, and plan of the Amiri Diwan to build entrances and exits to the Blood Bank at Qasser area, with a wall to keep off stray dogs.
Meanwhile, the council rejected request of the owners of Hajj caravans to obtain license to operate in private housing and investment areas. They also referred the issue of incinerator to the Environment Committee, while some proposals were referred for further study.
