CSC nods resignation of 90 expats

-

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has endorsed the resignation of 90 expatriates, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

Sources clarified this is not part of the replacement percentage implemented in fiscal year 2019/2020.

Sources added some of the expatriates who submitted their resignation tried to retract it but their application is still pending.

Meanwhile, other sources said the proposal submitted by an undisclosed non-governmental organization (NGO) on the need to obtain its approval prior to the issuance of work permits to expatriates with specializations in certain fields has been suspended.

Sources explained the approval of the proposal could be a precedent which might encourage other NGOs to follow suit. Sources asserted this necessitates thorough study and coordination with other concerned authorities to prevent the aforementioned scenario and avoid overlapping of functions.

Meantime, according to statistics published on the website “Socialbakers” regarding the top ten popular Kuwaiti accounts on Twitter, the top four belong to preachers, reports Al-Qabas daily.
